Digital service as a brand message: the CMS with a customized filter function

A brand's perception is influenced by a number of parameters. In addition to the external appearance, the digital user experience, which provides the highest level of customer orientation and quality, is becoming a decisive factor. As an internationally active manufacturer of animal food, the MERA company wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and also distinguish itself on this level through service quality and innovative strength.

MERA – „The Petfood Family“

The mission:

As one important goal of the relaunch of the brand was to bring the quality, service and customer orientation into the digital experience of the customers, zdreicom was commissioned as the IT service provider for the technical design of the website. The focus was on exploiting the possibilities of the Enterprise Content Management System TYPO3, not only for expanding the content with additional advisory informations, but also for selling the products of the company.
The scope of services from zdreicom included the complete conceptual design and control of the project, including the implementation with the CMS TYPO3.

This is how customer orientation works today: Maximum transparency and maximum ordering convenience

An essential element of the new website is the product finder, which makes it easier for MERA customers (end users, breeders, veterinarians) to filter a tailor-made product selection from a comprehensive range.
Products can be selected according to the age, constitution or special features of the animal, e.g. for those who suffer from allergies and need to be fed grain, wheat or gluten free. In the first development stage of the relaunch, the user could obtain the selected product from an external online shop or a regional dealer in the area during the ordering process. In the next development step, an own online shop was set up and docked on the platform.
The MERA customer not only benefits from the convenient product selection according to individual needs, but also receives detailed product information regarding ingredients and tips on feeding.
Another technical innovation was the optimization of the website for the latest PWA technology. This means that mobile users can also use a wide range of offline functions after their first visit.
